A Conversation with Minister Dr. Danyal Bayaz
Rachel Burcin hosted a conversation with Dr. Danyal Bayaz, Minister of Finance of Baden-Württemberg Germany, and alumni of the RI Summer Scholars Program to discuss motivations for pursuing education & careers in robotics & AI, the multiplier effect of exchange & global networks, importance of early research experiences, the impact of mentoring, and lived experiences within the CMU community. Both the US & Germany have faced long-standing challenges to broadening participation in STEM and securing the skilled workforce needed to keep their respective nation’s on the forefront of innovation. Both nations have launched renewed efforts to strengthen transatlantic collaboration in critical STEM fields.
Through a partnership with DAAD RISE, three German undergraduate students participated in the RISS 2022 program.
